Our DNA

Before we ran ships, we traded the cargo.

Our team have moved physical commodities, managed their logistics, priced their freight and hedged their risk. We did that at commodity traders, investment banks and in our own businesses.

That experience shapes how we work. A voyage only succeeds if cargo operations are run smoothly and delivered on time.

Every voyage starts from the cargo.

Charterers need certainty: a firm price, a vessel that arrives when it should and clear information from fixture to discharge. Each part of our business exists to deliver one of those.

The workhorse of dry bulk.

We operate modern Panamax and Kamsarmax bulk carriers. They transit the Panama Canal and reach ports and terminals that larger Capesize vessels cannot, which suits them to most major and medium-haul bulk trades.

Our founders have spent their careers trading physical commodities, chartering ships and hedging freight and fuel risk - for traders, a bank and their own shipping businesses.

Adrian Beciri

Co-founder · Limassol

Adrian was Head of Dry Bulk Trading at Macquarie Bank, where he was an early adopter of Forward Freight Agreements and fuel oil swaps to manage risk on physical positions, and his desk structured FFA options for shipping clients. In 2015 he founded Ducat Maritime, a freight operator specialising in bagged and bulk cargoes into West Africa, which has since expanded into in-port logistics: warehousing, trucking and bagging.

Ishaan Hemnani

Co-founder · London

At Glencore, Noble Group and World Fuel Services Ishaan worked in trading and risk management, structuring derivative hedges for dry bulk, tanker, container, cruise, ferry, RoRo and offshore operators. In 2017 he founded BunkerEx, a marine fuel data platform and broker acquired in 2021 by United Shipping & Trading Company. He later served as CTO and CCO of Onyx Capital Group, and helped build out Squarepoint Capital's global commodities platform.
